  • Eat Calcium rich foods.

  • Avoid Smoking

  • Limit Alcohol Consumption

  • Do regular Strength training activities and exercise to keep yourself healthy.

  • Eat food rich in Vitamin-D.

  • Prevention of osteoporosis helps in prevention of Scoliosis at an older age.

Scoliosis Prevention in Children

  • one is to examine your child's spine regularly, starting when they are an infant. If you have any concerns about what you see, seek advice from a health professional.

  • Back Braces are used for moderate scoliosis in children whose bones are still growing. Commonly braces are made up of plastic and can be worn underneath clothing.

  • Kids with Scoliosis should avoid stomach sleeping which can "push the natural curvature of the spine out of the alignment and into abnormal scoliosis curve," says Dr. Raymond Hall.

  • Another way is through surgery. A doctor may recommend surgery for children with severe Scoliosis. This can reduce the curve and also keep it from worsening.

While Scoliosis if often easier to treat when it is diagnosed early, Scoliosis prevention is not possible. Only Progression can be reduced by different methods such as surgery, back braces, different sleeping habits etc. The only type that may be prevented is Scoliosis in adults, which is caused by osteoporosis.
